Welcome to Our Practice

Salinas Pediatric Medical Group, Inc. (SPMG) was founded by Dr. King and has a 40+ year reputation of providing excellent pediatric care in Salinas, California. Our doctors are board certified pediatricians and are fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Our providers have admitting privileges at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, which is known as one of the best hospitals in the country.

MODERN MEDICAL FACILITIES

We have laboratories at both offices which can diagnose common infections. We can tell you if your child has a bacterial or viral infection and if antibiotics are necessary or not.

WEEKEND & AFTER HOURS CONSULTATIONS

Our office is open Saturday mornings for sick visits. We have an on-call doctor available 24/7 to answer medical questions.

Many of our employees have been with the practice for 10+ years. Many of our patients have parents and grandparents that came to our practice when they were children. We are grateful to be a part of the Salinas community.

Chuyen Le Trieu, M.D.

Doctor

Chuyen Trieu, MD is a Physician Partner at Salinas Pediatric Medical Group. She earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine in Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam in 2001 and completed her Residency training in Pediatrics at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in El Paso, Texas.
Dr. Trieu currently serves as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Salinas Valley Health. Dr. Trieu is board certified Pediatrician and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Trieu resides in Salinas with her husband and their two daughters. She enjoys reading, running, and traveling with her family.

Cristina Mercado, M.D.

Doctor

Dr. Mercado completed her pediatric residency at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York in 2007. She graduated medical school from University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in the Philippines. She served as Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System from 2018-2020.

She enjoys reading, swimming, baking and spending time with her family. Dr. Mercado lives in Salinas with her husband and three children.
